Lilacs. I love 'em.

They remind me of childhood, and they smell like my birthday.

Did I mention my birthday's coming up? I'll be 29 or so on May 23. Don't worry, I'll remind you before then.

Lilacs, though. Mmmmmmm. I painted the whole office lilac, I love them so.

Obviously lilacs are my favorite flowers, I chose to use it has part of my nest name :0) I have a huge bunch on my dining room table. They even covered up the smell of dog puke and poop. Amazing flowers!

My mother, sister, and I would pick lilacs at my aunt's house every year. We would have lilacs for the house and bring them in to our teachers. It reminds me of my childhood too. Then several years ago I got my mom a lilac bush for mother's day.

I told my SO that I wanted to get married someday in May so that I could have lilacs at my wedding!

Ha! I'm totally with you. While I'm absolutely not a purple fan, I was inspired to do the same thing when we bought our Toledo house several years ago.

It was spring, so I painted 3/4 of the wall lilac and the top 1/4 yellow in my, "happy room."

I have no other explanation other than it was spring and the lilacs inspired me.

Another great thing about lilacs? They look AMAZING in a vase. They literally arrange themselves.

I was lucky enough to buy a house with 8 or 9 very well developed gigantic lilac bushes in the yard. My whole yard smells like a dream and with the windows open, it wafts into the house as well. It was a great suprise when they started budding out this spring. Almost made up for all the snow.
