I don't have an eternity band, but my wedding band goes 1/3 of the way around my finger. If you don't want to baby it, I would suggest channel set. Then you won't have to worry about prongs and knocking a diamond out.
I have an eternity band. Got it for our 5-year-anniversary in a couple of weeks and my birthday in August.
Anywho, I baby my eternity band FAR more than I baby my wedding band and my e-ring.
I agree with meghan, my wedding band is a channel set and it's all good. Nothing ever happens to it. (When I take off all my jewelry, that's always the piece I ALWAYS wear.)
My eternity band has TONS of prongs holding in the diamantes, so I worry all the time that I'll bend one and lose one.
I have an eternity band as my wedding band and I love it. It isn't big, but it is perfect! I didn't want a band that matched my e-ring because I wanted to be able to wear the wedding band without the e-ring or with a possible upgraded e-ring in the future! Mine is white gold and I love it! Like I said, the diamonds are small so I don't have a problem with knocking them out of messing up the prongs. I hope you get your band!!
I have an eternity band as my wedding band and I don't baby it at all. I have one very similar to the link you posted. It's a total of 1/2 carat and it's the prong setting. I've been wearing it for over a year and, knock on wood, I haven't had any trouble yet.
I get compliments on it all the time. Mostly they go like this, "Does your ring have diamonds ALL THE WAY around it??" And then they say I must have a very nice husband! :o)
